Kirk ‘I-Nation’ Scarlett awarded as one of the 4 inaugural Literacy Heroes of Jamaica

The Book Industry Association of Jamaica (BIAJ) recently announced four winners of the organisation’s inaugural Literacy Hero Award. Selected from over 100 nominations that were submitted by individuals and organizations representing 10 parishes, Ras I-Nation was selected for his contribution as the operator of the I-Nation Books & Necessities, a mobile social enterprise/bookstore.

I-Nation Books & Necessities is labour of love that has been providing a wide selection of Pan-Afrikan literature over the past two decades. Over this time the team have leveraged the power of books in their passionate quest to  inspire change in the youths of the nation as well as beyond the shores of Jamaica.

Kudos to the Book Industry Association of Jamaica (BIAJ) for this valid recognition and Fulgrats to fellow Literacy Heros.

In the words of Ras I-Nation, “we must care no less for the mind than we do for the body”, as such we do welcome and encourage any and all support to I-Nation Books & Necessities and the fulfillment of their mission.

Love & thanks!
